ANNUAL REPORT 2023

LETTER FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Date: January 2, 2024

To our esteemed COLLABORATORS, VOLUNTEERS AND ASSOCIATED COMMUNITIES,

It is with great satisfaction and a sense of collective achievement that I write to you to share a summary of the management of ENVIRONMENTAL WOMEN org. during the year 2023. This year has been one of significant expansion, challenges overcome and, most importantly, positive impacts on our communities and the environment.

Impacts and Results:
In 2023, with a budget of USD 305,000, we have managed to implement 18 vital projects in the Colombian Amazon basin and in the Colombian Andean mountains. These projects have been instrumental in our mission to conserve biodiversity, combat climate change, promote gender equity, and ensure environmental justice.
We have conserved and restored more than 25,000 hectares of vital ecosystems, which not only helps preserve biodiversity but also combat the effects of climate change. These areas now serve as refuges for numerous endangered species and as green lungs that absorb carbon, contributing to the health of our planet.
In terms of gender equality and empowerment, we have trained more than 5000 women in indigenous, peasant and fishing communities. These trainings have covered topics such as environmental leadership, resource management and women’s rights, equipping them with the necessary tools to be agents of change in their communities.

Challenges and Learning:
The year 2023 also presented its challenges. Logistics in remote regions and unpredictable climate change tested our resilience and adaptability. However, these challenges have taught us the importance of community collaboration and innovation in our strategies.
Key Activities:
Among our most notable activities, we carry out training workshops, reforestation campaigns and environmental education programs. These programs have not only had a direct impact on conservation and education, but have also strengthened community ties and fostered greater environmental awareness.

Looking to the future:
Looking to the future, we are committed to expanding our influence and continuing to work tirelessly for a more just and sustainable world. Our plans for 2024 include expanding our conservation programs and implementing new women’s empowerment initiatives.
We deeply appreciate the support and dedication of each of you, who make our work possible. Together, we are making a significant difference for our planet and for future generations.
With gratitude and hope,

Executive Director
